Summary Prints depict historic people, structures and events in Brooklyn from the era before the rise of photography. Many of these prints come from popular magazines and journals of the 19th century, including Harper's Weekly, Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, and Scientific American. Many are also derived from Henry R. Stiles' three-volume work, A History of the City of Brooklyn. Images dated after 1930 are generally reprints of 19th century prints.
